Doctor Jessica Taylor

When writing a fictional book on the emergency professions one area cannot be overlooked and that is the emergency room personnel. While I prominently feature the character of Jessica Taylor as a doctor the books also explore the lives and careers of everyone in the emergency room from technicians to nurses. However, Jessica's character was created for the purpose of showing the compassion and dedication that is found in all emergency room medical personnel.

University of Maryland Medical Center

The University of Maryland's Department of Emergency Medicine and Shock Trauma Center provides a wide range of care in emergency cases. It has a full medical and surgical emergency department. The emergency room takes all trauma victims as well as medical emergencies.

A emergency room team of doctors and nurses provide initial assessment and stabilize the patients while coordinating treatment with other medical specialties.
