Paramedic Tasha Grace

When creating the character of Tasha Grace I knew I wanted someone who could show the extreme dedication that goes into the job of a paramedic. For this reason I created her character as one that has a traumatic experience on the job. As a result she is often torn between quitting her job or continuing to do what she's always wanted to do. Throughout this character's career the dedication she puts into her job is seen in the way she cares for her patients and looks out for the safety of her partner.

Paramedic Lang Avis

The character of Lang Avis was created because I wanted to do something a little out of the convention stereotype for paramedics. Lang's character was created to show a paramedic that is dedicated to their job, but at the same time more of a renegade within the rescue community. For this reason her character will often push the limits if it is necessary to save a life, which in some of the other characters' views makes her a much better paramedic.

Medic Seven

In Baltimore there are twenty-two ambulance units that provide Advanced Life Support (ALS). These units are located along side fire units in various fire stations. If a call requires extra personnel or equipment a fire engine will be called out in addition to the medic unit.

Ambulance personnel work the same shifts as fire fighters: two ten-hour days followed by two fourteen-hour nights. Each paramedic shift has one captain and three supervisors the rank of lieutenant.

In my book I have two paramedics that are assigned to Medic Seven out of the Oldtown Station with Engine Six and Truck One. Paramedics Tasha Grace and Lang Avis. You can see their profiles to the right.
